Richie Sambora Joins ESP Artist Roster
Richie Sambora, the famed guitarist of worldrenowned rock band Bon Jovi, is the newest member of the ESP family of artists. A new Signature Series guitar model designed by Sambora and his long-time associate and expert luthier Chris Hofschneider, the LTD SA-2, will soon be available at ESP/LTD dealers. Sambora becomes the latest high-profile guitarist to choose ESP, joining
current ESP artists such as James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett (Metallica), Alexi Laiho (Children of Bodom), Wayne Static (Static-X), Will Adler (Lamb of God), George Lynch, Ron Wood, and others.
“We are beyond pleased to have Richie Sambora on the ESP team,” says Allen Steelgrave, ESP’s director of marketing and artist relations. “Around the world, Richie is one of the most well-known and immediately recognized guitarists through his years of work with Bon Jovi. We couldn’t be happier that he’s chosen ESP Guitars to manufacture his signature model.”
Matt Masciandaro, ESP president, agrees. “For the past 30 years, much of ESP’s success is owed to endorsements by artists like Richie. He has influenced an entire generation of rock guitarists, and we’re very proud to offer an affordable LTD model that meets his high standards.”
Along with singer Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora has been the primary songwriter of the band Bon Jovi since its formation in 1983. Over the past 24 years, Bon Jovi has sold over 120 million albums worldwide, 34 million in the United States alone. During that time, Sambora has also released successful solo albums. Nine out of Bon Jovi’s ten albums have achieved platinum sales status.
Sambora’s melodic technique has resulted in unforgettable riffs that powered songs including four that reached #1 on the Billboard charts ("You Give Love a Bad Name", "Livin' On A Prayer", "Bad Medicine", and "I'll Be There for You"). In 2006, the band won a Grammy for best Country Collaboration for "Who Says You Can't Go Home". They have also been nominated twice for the smash hit "It's My Life" and two songs from the album Bounce, "Misunderstood" and "Everyday".
